Nightlife

Whoever said that there is no nightlife in Verona couldn’t be more wrong. As the sun goes down, the partying starts. You can find bars and clubs both within the city centre and on the city outskirts. The more popular ones are found within the historic city centre, however.

One of the most frequented cafés is the Caffe delle Erbe, also known as the Mazzanti. You can easily find this trendy café in the Piazza delle Erbe, near the Roman forum. Enjoy good food and drinks, and the occasional live music from Tuesday to Sunday, 7.30 am to 2am. If you plan on visiting the Caffe delle Erbe, be sure to put on your best clothes as most of the clientele belong to the chic crowd.

The Campidoglio sits nearby, full of history as it is located on the site of the ancient Roman Capitol. During evenings, especially in the summer, the Campidoglio tends to be jam-packed due to the numerous visitors. Enjoy aperitifs and more from 11 in the evening till 2 in the morning everyday, except on Mondays. If you want a more spacious hang out, go over to the Vecia Veronetta. This 2-storey pub can be found on the Via Scrimiari and is open till 4 in the morning. Beer is not the only thing on the menu as they offer other drinks as well as pizza, sandwiches and piadine.

Another well-known drinking hole is the Rivamancina. Known to patrons as Paolino’s, this cocktail bar is famous for its unique décor. Works of modern are displayed and changed on a monthly basis. Regulars come here to drink beer and all sorts of cocktails. They all swear to the manager’s drink-making skills.

Enjoy a cup or two of the best coffee in Verona at the Caffe Tubino located at the Corso Portoni Borsari. Though quite small, they have a huge selection of over 120 different kinds of coffee and sweets. This café is not for night owls though, as they are only open from 6 to 12 in the evening. If you are a sucker for awesome views, then the Bar al Ponte is the place to go. Overlooking the Adige River and the Roman theatre, the Bar al Ponte is perfect for a romantic evening out.

Just outside the city centre, you can find the Ca' Lupa. Good music and good food are just some of the perks of this place. Situated far from residential areas, the Ca’ Lupa is the perfect place if you like a little noise. Summer is a great time to visit as you can sit outside and enjoy the night.

Verona does not lack for night clubs either. Alter Ego is known all over Europe for being a trendy hot spot. Although the club is not very large, the DJs and their music will have you dancing through the night. The bartenders also make up drinks to complete your night.

An old-time nightclub is how one would describe Berfi’s. They also have a restaurant to satisfy your hunger. Always packed, this small club offers commercial music as well as some live music in the "Caffè degli Artisti".
