One of
the largest resorts along the Milky Way ski area in Italy is Sauze
d'Oulx. It gives skiers access to a total of about 400 km of ski
runs. In spite of its size however, Sauze d'Oulx provides mostly
intermediate-skill skiing areas. Professionals and experts looking
for more challenging terrain will have to undergo some travel in
order to suit their ability, while those still learning to ski will
have to make do with the few runs available for beginners, lest
they learn quickly and advance into intermediate. Snowboarders,
nonetheless, will have a great time here due to the various pistes.
On days that you don’t feel up to the skiing
challenge, there are a lot of other things to do, sights to see,
and attractions to encounter in Sauze d'Oulx. Sight seeing is always
a pleasure when in the Alps. The picturesque view of snow-capped
mountains will captivate any tourist’s imagination. In addition
to the beauty of Mother Nature, there are also quite a few man made
wonders in the area to feast your eyes on. A significant one is
the Church of St John the Baptist, which dates back to 1532 and
boasts of a marvelous clock tower of Romanesque heritage. Others
attractions worth seeing are the Sauze d'Oulx fountain built in
the 16th century, and the Sant'Antonio Abate Chapel, which dates
all the way back to the 14th century.
On addition to these awesome sights, Sauze d'Oulx
also livens up in the evening with a bustling nightlife. There is
a wide array of bars and clubs to party in, meet new people and
mingle with other skiers.
