La Thuile

In La Thuile, Valle d’Aosta, Italy can be found one of the most wonderful slopes for skiing. Being close to the French border, La Thuile is linked with a neighbouring French resort, La Rosiere. The area that links these two superb resorts is called the Espace San Bernardo. It is a shared skiing area that totals just about 150 km.

La Thuile is considered to be one of the biggest and highest skiing areas in the Alps. A part of an international skiing area, there are ski runs here that cater to beginners, intermediate skiers, professional skiers, and even snowboarders. Its ski runs that face towards the north are wide and well maintained. Intermediate skiers will surely enjoy the relaxed slope for cruising at a steady pace. In addition, these slopes are especially friendly to snowboarders.

The modern cable car in the area makes ascending the mountain as pleasant as descending from it on ski. The speed of your ascent is not an issue here as this cable car can transport up to 3,000 people in an hour, which happens especially during the peak season.

La Thuile also speaks of a highly sophisticated programmed snow system, which, combined with the perfect natural conditions due to its high altitude, makes snow abundant and of remarkable skiing quality. This makes for a longer, and more enjoyable ski season, much to the delight of La Thuile’s frequent guests and tourists.

Apart from the skiing experience, La Thuile is especially beautiful at night. There are plenty of bars and other establishments in the area to mingle with other tourists and skiers.
